The African Academy of Sciences and the New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD) Agency will on 10 September launch the Alliance for Accelerating Excellence in Science in Africa (AESA).

AESA, a funding platform for developing science strategies and funding research in Africa, has been established with the support of the Wellcome Trust, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and the UK Department for International Development (DFID).
